I had been using the microwave products that had flaxseed in them, but it was a little too damp. At first I thought the Lavayoo was going to be too heavy. When I finally tried it, I realized I really liked it and it stays hot much longer the flaxseed product. And there's no afterfeel of dampness! I have neuropathy in my feet, so I not only have one, but I bought a second one for the other foot!

I'm so disappointed! I spent what felt like a fortune for a promising new product... and it's impossible to use. Why? 1) it takes 4 1/2 minutes to heat enough to make any difference!
2) it's a nuisance to always have to add a container of water to the microwave along with the pad (especially since nowhere on the site mentions this!)
3) Since sand follows gravity and the seams don't run the full way across the pad, it's virtually impossible to lay it out smoothly. And if I drape it over my shoulders, the sand all runs to the tips of the pad, leaving empty cloth around my neck.
4) Worst of all, I didn't discover all this until after the 30-day return guarantee, so I'm stuck with a product I can't use.

I use it every night as I am falling asleep. I have new er slept so good. I use it when I go outside. It keeps me warm while I am waiting for the heater to warm my car. I love this and everyone should have one

I was hoping to use it under my client's neck during a massage, but it was a little too stiff for that. It does work great placed on the lower back to warm up the area.

I Love the Lavayoo! I needed to replace a warmer (we call it the weasel) that had some kind of hulls in it - I really had it for years and forgot what was in it but it finally got too smelly (burnt). My Lavayoo does not smell at all and it can get warmer because I can heat it longer in the microwave. I plan to get some more as gifts for beloved family members.

Bought it for my wife. Her old bean and rice microwave heating pad was burnt and smelled terrible every time she heated it up. The lava wrap is larger and covers more area and doesn’t get too hot and definitely doesn’t smell!!

This heating pack is great. It doesn’t have the gross smell of rice/buckwheat/barley, or the plasticky feel or smell of gel packs. The only downside is that it doesn’t get piping hot the way my barley heat pack did, it’s more of a medium warmth. But it still gets the job done and warms my feet up for bedtime. I’m mostly just relieved the gross barley smell is gone.

As I thought it would be, it's too heavy and it doesn't comfortably mold to my lower back or shoulders where most of my pain occurs. It does hold the heat longer than my flaxseed heat wrap. I need a lighter, smaller Lavabag.

Feel good about the lava sand’s odor absence. Couple comments:
Neck wrap has excess material that doesn’t have lava sand in it so when put around neck, no sand/heat on back of neck.
Also, we expected the sand to stay hot longer.

There is definitely room for improvement on the product! for example two convenient buttons at the end of the bag so that I could wrap it around my neck and snap it snuggly closed around my neck with the button straps, anyway it does help alleviate tensions stiffness & pain I like to dampen mine with warm water and throw it in the micro for 1 min warm cozy and relaxing, I bought mine for my neck because I got hurt :( the lava bag does help and it smells kinda like a New clean car not amazing but much better than other products I used that just smelled nasty and repulsive. P.s. I think the price was fair too. Thank you LB, a happy customer.

I bought the neck wrap for my husband after he was complaining of neck strain from extended computer work. I use the full size bag daily both are great quality retain heat better than any other I’ve tried. I would highly recommend this product!

The Lava Bag relieves symptoms caused by degenerative disc disease in my neck while sleeping. (Note that I had to remove the center two rows of stitches sewn into the bag in order for it to provide even support). 2-3 minutes in the microwave before bedtime, plus a pillowcase laid over the bag, and I'm good to go. Works much better than my homemade bag containing rice and flaxseed.

Nice but a little stiff. I think I would prefer it not to be filled quite as full and maybe divided into a few sections so the sand is distributed better. Seems to hold heat well and there is no smell.

The large lava bag is life changing :). I previously used the bags filled with rice, and while they heated well, they start to smell after a while and I always associate the smell with having a headache. Not the case with the lava bag! You can use them over and over and they don't smell, hold their heat well, and come with a washable cover. So glad I found these. Thank you Lava Bag...excellent product.
