The Lavayoo Original is one of our most popular lava sand heating pads and our very first design. Its weight and size make it extremely versatile, fitting almost every heating pad need.
Lavayoo Origninal provides a quick and easy way to soothe aches, pains, stress, and anxiety. They are perfect for migraines, back pain, neck pain, sore muscles, stiffness, poor circulation, cold feet, and more.
Just like any other heating or cooling pad, you can place your Lavayoo in the microwave or freezer for fast relief. What sets Lavayoo apart is the filling: odorless, ultra-rare lava sand—not food—so it lasts longer and stays clean.
Use Instructions
Heating:

Microwave: Heat for approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Most microwaves work well at this time, but you may need to adjust slightly to suit your preference. Do not exceed 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Oven/Air Fryer: Place on a cookie sheet to keep it clean. Heat at 200°F for 20–30 minutes. You may increase the heat slightly for faster warming, but avoid overheating—skin can burn at around 150°F.
Cooling:

Place the pad inside a sealed plastic bag (like Lavayoo Ice Bags) to keep out freezer odors. Freeze for 1–2 hours, or store in the freezer so it’s always ready for use.
Washing:
-
Lavayoo pads can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher if needed, unlike food-filled heating pads. Watch this video to learn.

Dishwasher: Place on the top rack and run a normal cycle.

Drying: Place on a cookie sheet in the oven at 200°F for about 1 hour or until completely dry. Fine sand particles may come through the fabric; simply dust them off.
In Case of Damage:

The lava sand lasts forever, but the fabric may wear out over time. Replacement bags are available for purchase. Simply transfer the sand to a new bag and:

Sew it shut if you have a sewing machine, or
-
Use the included fabric glue to seal the opening.

You can also repurpose an old pair of jeans: cut off a leg, glue the ends, and create a new bag for free! Watch this video to learn how.

I made my own cover — anyone who has an ounce of sewing skills can. I do like the fact that it doesn’t sound like it will mold and it does seem that it will last forever. I would purchase again or buy for a friend.

I already did a review but I wanted to show how these lava bags are versatile. I had my old moist heating pad and I decided what would happen If I took my small Lavayoo and replace the old insert and put it in the belly of my kitty. It fits perfect! Thanks Lavayoo I am a true fan. With it being winter I love to have these little wam lava bags around.
This is the perfect size to place inside my jacket. No more being nippy when I get in my in my cold car in the morning, I slip this little guy in my jacket and it perfect. Keeps me nice a warm.

I’m a massage therapist and sometimes my clients that are avid runners need a little heat on their legs to warm up the muscles before we begin the work. The lavayoo weighted heating pad worked great for this. It retained the heat longer than my DIY rice sock lol!! No smell, warmed great in the microwave, small enough to store, and my clients have enjoyed working with it so far. I’m so happy with it! I will need to purchase one for my house 🤩.

We absolutely Lava our LavaYoo full back lava bag. It is so wonderful to drift off to sleep with that on my back. It is such a dream to use it while driving my ‘61 VW Bus. As you can imagine the seats in those things are not exactly plush. The heat from the LavaYoo bay is so soothing and really helps on those long drives.
I Love the Lavayoo! I needed to replace a warmer (we call it the weasel) that had some kind of hulls in it - I really had it for years and forgot what was in it but it finally got too smelly (burnt). My Lavayoo does not smell at all and it can get warmer because I can heat it longer in the microwave. I plan to get some more as gifts for beloved family members.

The Lava Bag relieves symptoms caused by degenerative disc disease in my neck while sleeping. (Note that I had to remove the center two rows of stitches sewn into the bag in order for it to provide even support). 2-3 minutes in the microwave before bedtime, plus a pillowcase laid over the bag, and I'm good to go. Works much better than my homemade bag containing rice and flaxseed.

I was searching for a heating sack that didn’t smell and you can heat up enough to actually enjoy it. All the other sacks filled with grains would never be hot enough (or burn if I tried to heat it up to a good temperature) and lose heat fast. I will have to update after using it more but this one spent 2 minutes in the microwave it feels great. In addition, lavehq correct me if I’m wrong, I’m pretty sure it can stay in the microwave up to 4 minutes without burning? Which would likely be too hot for my microwave anyway. But is this sack burn proof? Guess I’ll find out (or hopefully I won’t lol). It seems to retain the heat very well and the weight is amazing. I love this sack so much that I decided to write an in depth review on it, the only thing that wasn’t apparent was the lavender smell. I actually can’t smell lavender at all but the sack is so great it doesn’t really matter. I was hesitant at first because of the higher than usual price point for sacks but trust me it is definitely WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. Plus you are supporting a small business :)

I used all three lavayoos, one for my back, one to cover low back and hip and one to cover thigh and knee. I was amazed that the heat lasted so long - probably close to an hour. I heated one up and gave it to my husband to use for his back. They do a good job of relieving soreness.

I purchased Lava sand to replace corn that was burnt in my corn baby bags. Lava sand is nicer and has no smell like the corn babies. I ordered the eye mask because I have migraines and these can be used hot or cold. The mask is great. I would definately reccomend.
Holds heat for a good amount of time. Love the lava sand and 100% cotton fabric. Will buy again!

These are obviously well made, I am excited to use them. However. The eye mask is way too heavy and overstuffed. A little weight goes a long way over the eyes, and you want some draping effect rather than it sitting stiffly over the eyes. I am going to have to take it apart and remove some of the sand. Recommend cutting out a few ounce of sand to improve it.
I really like it but I wish it would hold the cold longer.
