How to Use Your Recovery System (Super Simple)
Heat or chill your Lavayoo (instructions below).
Apply the Everything Pain Stick generously to the sore area.
Place the warm (or cold) Lavayoo directly on top of the Pain Stick.
Relax for 15–20 minutes and breathe and listen to your body.
This simple combination turns ordinary pain relief into real recovery.
Heating Instructions
Microwave: Heat for approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds (adjust slightly for your microwave). Do not exceed 3 minutes 30 seconds.
Oven: Place on a cookie sheet. Heat at 200°F for 20–30 minutes.
Cooling Instructions
Place the pad inside the included Ice Bag (or any sealed plastic bag) to keep out freezer odors. Freeze for 1–2 hours or store in the freezer so it’s always ready.
Washing & Care
Unlike food-filled pads, Lavayoo pads can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
Dishwasher: Top rack, normal cycle.
Drying: Place on a cookie sheet in the oven at 200°F for about 1 hour or until completely dry. Fine sand particles may come through the fabric — simply dust them off.

I received this, put it in my microwave, which is not overly high-powered, and within 30 seconds there was a spark and burn. I contacted customer support, who said I must've left it in too long and offered to send a new bag. After about a month, I contacted them because I had received nothing. They then sent out a new cover. Only the cover. I had already thrown out the entire set. It seemed there was something reactive in the sand, because I've never had a problem with anything else I've microwaved. So, for me at least, this was a complete waste of money. Customer service? I was told I must have microwaved it too long, even though I followed the directions that were sent.
Fabulous customer service experience. Had issue with original and they responded by sending me a new one promptly. Really appreciated how they handled that.
I love using the lava sand bags during my massage sessions, they are scent free and so easy to wash. They hold the heat so well I like to keep them in my towel warmer then use on the clients belly or chest during my hammock massage protocol to keep the client cozy.
I like the weight of Lavayoo. I’m glad I got the size I did. The weight is calming and I heat it up right before I go to be and lay it on my chest and the warmth puts me right to sleep. This is the perfect size to place inside my jacket. No more being nippy when I get in my in my cold car in the morning, I slip this little guy in my jacket and it perfect. Keeps me nice a warm.

I’m a massage therapist and sometimes my clients that are avid runners need a little heat on their legs to warm up the muscles before we begin the work. The lavayoo weighted heating pad worked great for this. It retained the heat longer than my DIY rice sock lol!! No smell, warmed great in the microwave, small enough to store, and my clients have enjoyed working with it so far. I’m so happy with it! I will need to purchase one for my house 🤩.

It is such a dream to use it while driving my ‘61 VW Bus. As you can imagine the seats in those things are not exactly plush. The heat from the LavaYoo bay is so soothing and really helps on those long drives.

Works much better than my homemade bag containing rice and flaxseed.

All the other sacks filled with grains would never be hot enough (or burn if I tried to heat it up to a good temperature) and lose heat fast. In addition, lavehq correct me if I’m wrong, I’m pretty sure it can stay in the microwave up to 4 minutes without burning? Which would likely be too hot for my microwave anyway. But is this sack burn proof? Guess I’ll find out (or hopefully I won’t lol). It seems to retain the heat very well and the weight is amazing. I love this sack so much that I decided to write an in depth review on it, the only thing that wasn’t apparent was the lavender smell. I actually can’t smell lavender at all but the sack is so great it doesn’t really matter. I had been searching for a heat pack that could withstand hotter Temps and also that could not spoil and especially that was covered with cotton and not polyester (plastic bottle) material.
These lava sand bags meet all those requirements.

I like the heat pack for the most part, would be nice if the 3lb one was just a bit longer with the same weight to fit across your neck. Also needs some rope/cord on the ends that makes a loop to more easily position it on your back, my homemade rice packs have rope "handles" on either end. The heat pack does stay warm for quite a while and feels nice. I'd probably buy it again, but think I will try buying the sand kits and make my own sizes.
I used all three lavayoos, one for my back, one to cover low back and hip and one to cover thigh and knee. I was amazed that the heat lasted so long - probably close to an hour. I heated one up and gave it to my husband to use for his back. They do a good job of relieving soreness.
